Next historical chronicle of Minigolf Youth World Championships

The official training days of the Minigolf Youth World Championship began on the 6th of August, Friday. All teams have already arrived in Sochi except the team from Slovakia. This team will arrive tomorrow by Austrian Airways which are an official carrier of the World Championship.

The Slovaks missed a party which was dedicated to the beginning of the International Youth Championship. But their friends, colleagues and rivals from Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic and Russia enjoyed themselves very much in the bar “Tropicana” which is situated on the beach of the hotel "Olympiysky-Dagomys".

Teenagers were entertained by the group of hotel animators and by its main star – Alyena Barcelona. She did her best in carrying out the party by offering to take part in funny contests and singing modern R’n’B repertoire to the applause of the young sportsmen.

Today, on 7th of August, Saturday, the Czech Republic juniors visited Krasnaya Polyana. This is a mountain village where the significant part of the Olympic disciplines of the Winter Olympic Games 2014 will take place.

All the guys were on the mountain Aibga (2200 m) where they were brought by the help of the ski lift “Gornaya Karusel”. This Sports and Tourist Complex is a partner of the Minigolf Youth World Championships 2010.

The guys who differ from other sportsmen by their cheerful temper and communicability were very impressed by mountain air and picturesque views.

On 8th of August the Minigolf Youth World Championships 2010 in Sochi was officially opened.
The Press Conference and the Official Opening Ceremony of the International Tournament took place in the hotel “Olympiysky-Dagomys” yesterday.

The journalists' questions were answered by the General Secretary of the WMF Dr. Roger Kadosh, the WMF Sports Director Dr. Gerhard Zimmermann, the Sports Director of the tournament, the WMF Youth Officer, Mr. Pasi Aho, the Minigolf Committee Chairman of the Russian Golf Association, Alexander Ershov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hotel “Olympiysky-Dagomys” Evgenie Kaplun and the Head of Physical Culture and Sports Department of Sochi Dmitry Lazarev.

Today, on 10th of August 2010, the Minigolf Youth World Championships begins. 87 sportsmen from 10 countries begin to fight for the titles of the planet best sportsmen.

The first two days of the Minigolf Youth World Championships in Sochi have already passed.

In whole, all the predictions about the tournament favorites are coming true. But there are also some unexpectednesses. The most pleasant one, especially for the Russian fans, is quite a successful performance of Russian sportsmen. The male team is the fifth.

The Russian guys have left behind not only their old rivals from Czech Republic and Slovakia, but also, though not for a lot, traditionally strong teams from Finland and Switzerland. The Russian female team performance seems to be even more successful, the girls are on the third place. They have left behind the teams from Sweden and Switzerland, and such a fact is undoubtedly a big success. Before this Championship these two teams always used to leave behind our girls.

But after the first two days of the competitions the leaders are both junior women's and men's teams from Germany.

Today a sportsman from Sweden, Mattias Braennstroem, set up a record on the miniature golf. He overcome 18 holes for 18 blows.
